Wicks and Wick Clips

The Waxhouse/Scentmasters carries the largest variety of wicks available.  On this page, you should find all wicks to meet your needs.

Wick selection is important to achieve the slowest burning, cleanest burning candle with minimal drip or smoke. Selection of wick size is determined by the diameter of the candle and by the hardness and melting point of the wax used. If using additives, you may wish to select a larger or smaller wick size, depending upon the type of candle you are making. Suggestions are offered for wick size are based upon use of 100% paraffin with a maximum useage of 25% stearic acid.  However, you are the best judge of the wick size required for your use.  Always test burn your wick and wax combination to be sure it is correct for use.

For Gel Wax, always use a non-metal core wick.

For Soy Wax, although metal core wicks may be used, most soy candlemakers prefer paper or cotton core wicks.

FLAT BRAID SPOOLED WICK

Cotton, bleached flat braided wick used for tea-ligths tapers, and pillars.  Works well with paraffin and natural wax.  Curls when burns with minimal carbon buildup.

SQUARE BRAID SPOOLED WICK

Cotton, bleached square braided wick used for tealights, votives, tapers, pillars and containers.  Works well in paraffin or natural waxes - mainly used with highly viscous wax.  Curls when burns with minimal carbon buildup.
